François Picard
Who I am :
“I am 26 years old and I have been a journalist for three years. Passionate about cycling, I have made with this means of transport different trips with Sebastien Thevenard. I have also made numerous journeys with more traditional means of transport. From them I have written several Travel Journals, which have met with a certain amount of success on the Internet (http://site.voila.fr/devenise).
From a professional point of view, I was one of the few journalists to denounce the consequences of the embargo on the civil Iraqi population as early as 2000 (See article in the international columns of Le Figaro of June the 2nd, 2000). In June of the same year, laureate of the Roulletabille prize (a grant, organized by the Mines School of Albi and sponsored by Sylvain Augier), I have made a TV report about the way the Romanian university professors have lived through the communist dictatorship.
I have made several reports on different radio or TV channels (some of which about freedom of the press) in Georgia, Albania, Kosovo and South Africa. Most of them have been published in Telerama, but these travels have allowed me to make reports for medias as diversified as France Culture, RFI, La Croix, La Tribune…
Nevertheless, these voyages remain exceptions in my journalist’s daily life. Most of the time, I make economic reports for La Tribune and Courrier Cadres.”
My place in the project :
“I conceived the project and I began to organise it in May 2003. I will assume the responsibility for it and live it from the beginning to the end. I will also make all the reports on freedom of the press.”
